The short version
- We do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with any third party for their own use, including advertisers and data brokers.
- The Sweet Trade shows no ads and contains no third-party advertising or tracking.
- The usage data we collect from the game is anonymous. We use it to find and fix bugs and to understand, in general, how the game is played, so we can decide what to improve and what to build next.
- You can play without creating an account. An account is optional, and only needs an email address.
Who we are and what this covers
The Sweet Trade is made and published by Netcode, Inc. (“Netcode”, “we”, “us”, “our”), located in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. This privacy policy explains what information we collect when you download, install, play or contact us about The Sweet Trade, its websites and its related services (together, the “Services”), why we collect it, and the choices you have.
By using the Services you agree to this privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Information we collect
Anonymous usage data. While you play, the game may send us technical and gameplay information that does not identify you, for example:
- crash reports and error logs, including the game version and the screen or step where a problem happened;
- general device information such as the device type, operating system version, screen size and language;
- gameplay events such as levels started and finished, difficulty chosen, time spent in a session, and which features are used;
- performance information such as loading times and frame rate.
This data is sent under a random identifier made by the game. It is not a device or advertising identifier, it is not linked to your name, email address or any account, and we do not try to identify you from it. Where the game asks for your permission before sending gameplay data, nothing is sent unless you agree.
Account information (only if you choose to create a Netcode account). To save your progress across devices, you can link an email address. We then keep your email address, the year of birth you give us (used only to apply age rules), the devices signed in to your account and their approximate location (country or city level, used to warn you about sign-ins you do not recognise), and your game progress.
Information you send us. If you email us for support, we keep your message and your email address to answer you.
Purchases. If the game offers purchases, payment is handled entirely by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). We never see or store your card or bank details; the store only tells us what was bought, so we can deliver it.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings or camera images.
- We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not build advertising or marketing profiles about you.
How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- run the game and keep it working, including saving your progress;
- find, investigate and fix bugs, crashes and performance problems;
- understand in general how players use the game, so we can balance it, improve it and decide on new features and content;
- keep the Services secure and prevent cheating, fraud and abuse;
- answer your questions and support requests;
- meet our legal obligations.
Children
The Sweet Trade can be enjoyed by players of all ages, but a Netcode account for a child under 13 (or the higher minimum age where you live) must be set up by a parent or guardian. The parent confirms by email, chooses the child’s controls and a parent PIN, and can change those controls at any time from their own Netcode account.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child without a parent’s permission. A child’s account has no sign-in email of its own. If you believe a child has given us personal information without permission, contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep information
Anonymous usage data is kept only as long as it is useful for fixing problems and understanding how the game is played, and is then deleted or aggregated further. Account information is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal information is erased within the period shown on your account page, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections, sign-in without passwords, and limited access within our team. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.
Your choices and rights
From your Netcode account you can download a copy of your data, change your email address, sign out other devices and delete your account. You can also contact us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law, and you may complain to your data protection authority.
You can stop all collection of usage data at any time by uninstalling the game.
Where information is stored
Our servers and service providers may be located in Canada or other countries. Wherever information is processed, it is protected as described in this privacy policy.
